On April 11, 2019, Access Living CIL (Center for Independent Living) in Chicago hosted a Newsy event "Sex, Love, and Life: Navigating Womanhood and Disabilities. The evening contained a panel discussion, interspersed with viewing the clips from the series. The 4 clips they showed were about Sex, Love and Dating; Sexual Assault and Abuse; Pregnancy; and Motherhood. The videos presented a more holistic view of women with disabilities and sexuality.
The panelists included Sorel Estrada Volpe, a disability activist who as a non-profit called Frill-Ability, Inc.; Candace Coleman, the Racial Justice Community Organizer at Access Living; another woman whose name I didn't get and Justin Cooper, a black filmmaker and disability activity who produced a documentary called The Wheelchair Chronicles.
Advocate Cathy Saunders and BTS Co-Director Linda Sandman were interviewed in the development of the series.
